Campaign and finance reform are the main objectives of one political action committee in 2018. Their goal is to overturn Citizens United and make lasting changes to the way that the political process may take place in years to come.

Some of the targets that have been announced include Mimi Walters, Darrell Issa and Dana Rohrabacher. Four of the list of twenty targeted republicans are considered to be some of the most vulnerable members of the California House of Representatives.

California has a number of insightful opportunities and examples when it comes to the End Citizens United initiatives. Tiffany Muller, the executive director of End Citizens United (ECU) has explained the incredible importance and value of the state of California in this process.

Muller also indicates that there are a lot of investigation for Hunter in addition to certain other candidates with regards to misuse of funds and powers associated with the campaign. Contributions that were received by Issa have also been in question due to the private nature of organizations donating these funds.

End Citizens United is a large organization that has been in existence since 2015. Their efforts have led to more than twenty five point five million dollars being spent in 2016 alone. More plans that are targeting voters that are independent are some of the goals that they hope to realize in years to come.

The group has been responsible for raising a lot of funds including another eleven point five million by October 30th according to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). It is yet to be determined to what degree funds will be allocated and spent in lieu of the California district elections process.

A decision made by the Supreme Court in 2010 set the tone for the way that political campaign funds and related strategies would be implemented in years to come. Corporations were treated as people and the notion was used to help special interest groups as well as private individuals in the election fund raising process. The premise of this was that large amounts of money could be used to steer political campaigns and without traceability or accountability, the elections could effectively be purchased by the parties with the most money.

The ECU began in 2015 to fight this decision and influence the way that future establishments and elections would take place. Not only have they been supported through grass roots initiatives, but candidates that are in favor of the reform have also stepped up at multiple levels of the democratic party. Republicans have also agreed to some degree, when it comes to the improper nature of political spending or uncontrolled way that donations to political charities can be made. However, there is little evidence from the party to overturn or change the decision for present and future elections.
