Dr. David Samadi is a board-certified urologist whose specialties are diagnosing and treating bladder cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, and other urologic diseases. Most of his surgeries are minimally invasive from which patients can quickly recover.
It was in 1994 that Dr. David Samadi earned his medical degree. After attending Stony Brook University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, he earns his M.D. by attending the Stony Brook School of Medicine. After graduating he did his postgraduate work at two hospitals, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Montefiore Medical Center. After this training he went to Memorial Kettering Cancer Center where he did a fellowship in proctology. It was at the Henri Mondor Hospital Creteil, located in Creteil, France, that his fellowship in robotic surgery was performed.
Over the course of his professional career Dr. David Samadi has performed surgery in over 45 nations. Some of the hospital he has performed robotic surgery is the Mt. He has through time built a team of medical professionals that assist him when he is diagnosing urologic diseases and while performing surgery.
Due to his expertise he was brought in by Fox News to host a medical show, “Sunday Housecall”, from 2011 to 2016. He is now the host of a radio show that he began in 2015. He also established a website, Samadi MD.com, on which he posts articles about health-related matters. He is perhaps the only celebrity urologist in the world.
The type of surgery that most urologists perform can result in men having side effects after the surgery such as impotence and incontinence. Dr. David Samadi is currently creating a new technique without these issues, which he abbreviates as SMART. SMART stands for Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique. His approach doesn’t damage the nerves in the area that is being operated on and so there are no side effects. He expects to prove this technique works and publish the results in the near future.
Dr. David Samadi is originally from Iran and was born in a Jewish community. When the Iranian Revolution occurred in 1979 he and his younger brother fled this nation for Belgium. By way of London they eventually emigrated to America and settled in Roslyn, New York.
